Reuters recently launched a live video streaming service for television broadcasters and professional video publishers. It can be accessed via the Reuters Connect platform, offering broadcast-quality HD footage of live events to television, websites or social media platforms. According to Reuters, this new feature enables them to tell compelling stories faster and easier by using cloud-based delivery systems from one source across various devices such as mobile phones or tablets. With Reuters News Live, publishers now have various options for covering multiple events from fast-moving news items in low definition (HD) to broadcast-quality HD footage.
Reuters promises its new service will be “fast when necessary, deep when desired,” with an emphasis on authentic news from sources and journalists on the ground. It will also offer curated programs tailored to user interests and locations as well as real-time coverage of global events.
